Short version: I keep only what I need to reply to you and to run Dusted for you.
I never sell it, there are no ad trackers, and I'll delete it if you ask.
Who I am
Dusted is run by Jacob Schembri, a sole trader in NSW, Australia. For anything to do with your information, email [email protected].
What I collect
The "Get set up" form: your name, your email, your type of business, and the admin job you told me you hate. I use these to reply to you and to set Dusted up for your business.
What you type into the demo: this goes to the AI model to write the draft, and the draft comes back to your screen. Dusted doesn't save it.
Your IP address: used only to count how many demo tries you've had today. The count deletes itself after 2 days.
Payments: handled by Stripe. I can see your name, email and what you paid, but never your full card number.
The site doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. The app uses one cookie to keep you logged in, and nothing else.
Inside the Dusted app
When you use the app, Dusted keeps what it needs to do your admin, in your account only:
Your account: your email and your password, stored scrambled (hashed) so nobody can read it, me included.
Your business details: your brief (prices, rules, how you talk), and the details printed on your quotes and invoices, like your ABN, phone and bank details.
What Dusted writes for you: your quotes, invoices, emails, bookings and service-call prices, and whether each one was sent, accepted or paid. It keeps your newest 100, plus anything still waiting on an answer or a payment.
Your stock list: items, counts, suppliers and your costs. The last version is kept for 30 days so you can undo a change.
Your client cards: your customers' names, phone numbers, emails and addresses, the details you choose to keep (for example their system, vehicle or usual order), your notes, and a short history of what you've quoted, booked or billed them.
To write a draft, the words you type or say and the details it needs (your brief, and the card of the customer you mention) go to the AI model. When you give a job address, the address is looked up on the map to get the real drive (see below). Saved map lookups hold the address only, never a name, and delete themselves after 60 days.
If you talk instead of typing, your phone or browser turns your voice into text (on most phones that's the keyboard's own microphone, run by Apple or Google). Dusted only ever receives the text.
Your customers' details
If you're a Dusted customer, the details you put in about your own customers are yours. Dusted keeps them for you and uses them only to do your admin: to write your drafts, fill in your cards and show your reminders. I don't use them for anything else, I don't contact your customers, and I don't share them except with the services listed below, to do their part.
You decide what goes on a card, and you can change or delete any card in the app at any time.
Each quote has its own link for your customer, so they can see it and tap Accept. The link is long and random, it isn't listed anywhere or shown to search engines, and it shows only that one quote: your business details, the job, the prices and your terms. Anyone given the link can open it, so send it only to the customer. Dusted records the time they accepted. Deleting your account turns the links off.
Dusted is set up not to keep health details. If you run a clinic, keep treatment notes, injuries and medications in your clinical records, not in Dusted. If one gets mentioned, Dusted leaves it off the card and tells you.
Under Australian privacy law your customers should know you keep their details. If you have your own privacy note, it's worth saying you use an admin service to store contact details and write messages.
Who else handles it
Dusted is built on a few services. Each one handles your information only to do its part:
Cloudflare: hosts the site and the app, stores your account and everything in it, and forwards [email protected].
Anthropic: the AI model that writes the drafts. Under its commercial terms, what Dusted sends isn't used to train its models.
OpenStreetMap (Nominatim) and OSRM: free map services that turn a job address into a place on the map and work out the drive. They receive the addresses only.
These services may store information outside Australia, including in the United States.
What I don't do
I don't sell your information or share it for marketing. I don't use your customers' details for anything except drafting your messages. I don't contact your customers.
How long I keep it
Sign-up details, and everything in your Dusted account, stay for as long as we're talking or you're a customer. If you stop, I delete your account and everything in it, including your client cards, within 30 days of you asking. Payment records are kept for as long as Australian tax law requires.
Seeing, fixing or deleting your information
Email [email protected] to see what I hold about you, to fix it, or to have it deleted.
If you're not happy with how I've handled a privacy complaint, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too. If a change matters for paying customers, I'll email them first.
